TRYC Racing

TRYC hosts seasonal sailboat racing, with weekly Thursday evening races, as well as team races, individual challenges, and non-competitive events to accustom new sailors to group sailing.

Thursday Evening Race Series

Each season on Thursday evenings, usually starting in late May, TRYC hosts our regular Racing Series. Boats start with staggered start time based on the vessel’s PHRF rating and the captain’s sailing experience to equalize the field for exciting finishes. We hold three different race series per season and weekly social gatherings keep the races fun for all boat sizes and skill levels.

Occasional Races

TRYC also organizes other events during the season, including Long-Distance Races, Team Races, and non-competitive Sail-Around-the-Marks afternoons.

Check the Calendar for details on upcoming Occasional Races!

Challenge Cup 2026

Introducing TRYC’s newest sailing contest! All you have to do is get the best combined times on two simple courses: from the Start/Finish line, round the Mitchell’s Bay Mark and back; and from the Start/Finish line to the C Mark and back. Record your time (be honest) on the chart in the clubhouse. You can complete either course any time you want, as many times as you want: if someone beats your score on either course, do it again!

At the end of the season, we’ll calculate the best combined times for each boat. Best score will be the TRYC CHALLENGE CUP 2026 winner!
